Astaro Security Gateway Overview
The Astaro Security Gateway (ASG) System is most often implemented at the perimeter of the network, at all points of contact with the Public Internet (and, in some cases, points of contact with other 3rd party networks).  The system can detect attempted compromises / intrusions by external attackers using an ICSA-certified firewall and IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) module which also actively thwarts such attacks as they are launched against the customer’s managed network(s).  The Astaro Security Gateway can also act as a secure VPN access concentrator, which can be configured to allow remote users or sites to connect in securely from anywhere in the world. The Astaro Security Gateway can also act as a Web Filter, Email Filter, Web Application Firewall, and Secure Wireless Controller.  All of the functionality of the Astaro Security Gateway can be managed from a central web browser-based WebAdmin console, for ease of management.

Subscriptions currently available are: Network Security, Web Security, Mail Security, Web Application Security, and Wireless Security.  Any combination of features can be purchased as separately available subscriptions, giving the customer maximum flexibility and value when implementing this UTM solution.
Software or VM Deployment
The Astaro Security Gateway solution can be installed on a customer's choice of hardware; an extensive hardware compatibility list is maintained and updated at regular intervals.  Intel (and AMD) 32 bit and 64 bit platforms are supported.  The software is licensed in user (protected IP) increments ranging from 10 IPs to 100 IPs, to 250 IPs all the way up to Unlimited IPs.  If a customer has pre-existing hardware that meets the hardware requirements of the Astaro Security Gateway software, they can maximize their existing hardware investment easily with this deployment option.

Customers and MSPs that have an existing Virtualization infrastructure (or are moving towards that environment) can also deploy the Astaro Security Gateway solution on ESX(i), vSphere, or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.  The Astaro Security Gateway Virtual Appliance is licensed in the same manner as the software version; increments from 10 protected IPs to Unlimited protected IPs are available.
Astaro Hardware Appliances
The Astaro Security Gateway solution is available for deployment on a pre-configured Astaro Security Gateway Appliance.  There are several different appliances available, ranging from the ASG 110, which is suited for very small branch office deployments, to the Large Enterprise-Ready ASG 625, which can service large enterprise networks.  These appliances are also easily configured as active / passive failover systems, or even as active / active security gateway clusters.

With the ASG Appliance line, the customer is not burdened with maintaining hardware compatibility, and if there is a hardware failure, Astaro Support will replace the Security Gateway, simplifying repairs and minimizing downtime.

Web Security
Astaro Web Security protects employees from threats and allows you to apply terms and conditions to where and how they can spend their time online. Web Application Security
